Lowe’s Expands Statewide Countertop Contracts with PSI Tops

PSI will add fabrication and install for all Utah Lowe’s Solid Surface Sales

Salt Lake City, UT — In a huge vote of confidence for Utah’s oldest family-owned countertop company, PSI Tops, Lowe’s has selected the company to fabricate and supply all solid surface countertops for Lowe’s stores in Utah. PSI Tops was selected by the general contractor for Lowe’s, Sage Surfaces, for the large and demanding contract.

PSI TopsSince 2001, PSI Tops has fabricated laminate countertops for Lowe’s in the State of Utah, earning more stores and contracts throughout the years. Now, because of continued and constant high-scoring with Lowe’s, the giant retailer tapped PSI to fabricate all solid surface countertops working through all Lowe’s stores in the state.

“There is a huge competition to supply for Lowe’s and any of the superstore countertop suppliers,” said Jason Mayes, western regional sales manager for Sage. “In looking at history, a guarantee of first-class quality and ability to fabricate and deliver on time, PSI Tops was an easy choice. Kelly Passey and her team prove on a daily basis they are one of the top laminate and solid surface countertop providers not only in Utah, but the nation, and we’ve had an excellent relationship with PSI Tops for many years.”

It is a very large commitment for PSI Tops to dedicate time, materials, equipment, and most importantly, staff, for the Lowe’s contract, but CEO Kelly Passey and General Manager Ben Robinson know they are more than capable to handle the workload.

“PSI Tops has been with Lowe’s since 2001,” said Kelly. “We were recognized as a preferred installer many times over the years. This business is all about relationships with our wonderful suppliers, distributors and our incredible clients. We are deeply honored that Sage Surfaces would approach us and award us this valuable contract with Lowe’s. We are committed to fabricating the absolute highest quality of laminate and solid surface countertops to Sage, Lowe’s and ultimately to their customers.

It is anticipated that the contract will mean hundreds of additional countertop fabrications for PSI Tops in the first year alone, and that has created challenges in securing materials (especially wood) and adapting to the post-pandemic marketplace.

“We have a consistent and constant commitment to excellence ever since my father started the company (then called Plastic Specialties) over 50 years ago,” said Kelly. “That will not change and in fact, this new contract offers PSI Tops a chance to reaffirm our commitment to quality, pricing and on-time fabrication.”
