Shop Tour: Granit Design Granit Design was founded in 1998 by Jonathan Vanasse and Annie Roy. The first countertops were created in our owner’s residential garage in Ayer’s Cliff. In 1999, demand was high, the company moved to its first small shop on Villeneuve Street in Stanstead; a region known as the Granite Capital. That same year, the first employee was hired and the first saw was purchased. The business grew to a point where in 2005, the company moved to its current location on Industrielle Street, still in Stanstead, in a brand-new 20 000 square-foot shop. Since then, the building has undergone 4 expansions, the most important one took place in 2018; bringing our facility to nearly 100 000 sq. ft.
Today, thanks to our close ties with world-renowned stone importers and our sense of innovation that drives our automation processes, the talented teams at Granit Design can fabricate over 12 000 square feet of stone each week. Granit Design’s expertise goes beyond countertops, we specialize in custom-made stone applications such as fireplaces, stone sinks, showers, and more. Our surfaces are installed throughout Quebec, Ontario, the Atlantic provinces as well as the New England States of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
